FORMER 400m runner and TV personality Kriss Akabusi stunned celebrities and golfers alike with a hole-in-one at a charity golf day near Oxford.

Famous faces from the world of sport swung into action at Magnolia Park Golf and Country Club, near Horton-cum-Studley, in aid of charity.

World champion athlete Derek Redmond hosted the golf day on Thursday and was joined by the likes of former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton, swimmer Mark Foster and sprinters Kriss Akabusi and John Regis.

The club’s official Twitter account revealed that former TV presenter and Olympic silver medallist Mr Akabusi wowed the field with a hole-in-one.

In a ‘nearest to the pin’ challenge Olympic silver medallist and former Record Breakers host Akabusi achieved the rare feat.

The Magnolia Park club tweeted: “Kriss Akabusi gets a hole in one at the Derek Redmond golf day. Congratulations Kriss.”

Mr Akabusi responded: “Just had to be there.”

His team finished second overall.

The tournament was organised by Mr Redmond to raise funds for children’s cancer charity NC TLC Trust, which supports families living with tumours, leukaemia and other forms of cancer.

The NC TLC Trust was set up by families undergoing treatment in Northamptonshire and surrounding areas and is run by people supporting each other.

Each team consisted of three amateurs and one celebrity with the best two scores of the four counting overall.
