Two other 16-year-olds were assaulted by a youth near the Tesco store in Grove last Wednesday but the youth is said to have escaped police custody, leading to a manhunt involving a police helicopter.
A teen, who cannot be named, was arrested the same night and is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, obstructing a police constable, theft of a pair of handcuffs and criminally damaging a police car.
