A DANCE school is celebrating after its performers scored a haul of top marks in its summer exams.

Bicester Dance Academy celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year and has now followed that with a successful summer.

Around 60 exams were taken by dancers, with a 100 per cent pass rate – including 14 distinctions and more than 20 merits.

The academy, based in The Courtyard Youth Arts Centre in Launton Road, has around 120 students aged between five and 17 and was set up in 1995 by principal Sarah Tree.

Alice Hobbs, 15, from Bicester, who achieved distinction in Grade 6 ballet and Grade 5 tap and modern, said: “Bicester Dance Academy has shown that dedication and endurance with a passion for dance can result in pupils achieving their true potential.”

The school teaches classes four times a week, including pre-school ballet, ballet, tap, modern, lyrical and musical theatre.

Miss Tree said: “I am delighted that once again we have achieved outstanding exam results.”
