OXFORD United have not received any approaches for their players ahead of the transfer window closing tonight.

There were rumours over the weekend of interest in Callum O’Dowda from Sky Bet Championship side MK Dons.

The Kidlington winger was impressive again on Saturday, scoring one goal and setting up the other in the 2-0 win against Yeovil Town at the Kassam Stadium.

But speaking yesterday afternoon Mark Ashton, United’s chief executive, had not heard of a bid and did not expect any first-team players to be involved in a move before the 6pm deadline.

“I have had no contact from any clubs for any of our players,” he said.

“I’m sure Callum, as with our other players, will draw interest.

“We have no need to sell, we want to keep our best players.”

Instead, O’Dowda’s focus this week is on the Republic of Ireland Under 21 side.

The 20-year-old will be unavailable for United’s trip to Bristol Rovers this weekend due to games against Qatar Under 22s in Bury on Friday and a Euro 2017 qualifier in Andorra on Tuesday.
