The final decision on plans for a zebra crossing in Bridge Street will be made on Thursday.
Oxfordshire county councillor David Nimmo-Smith is to make the decision following a reconsultation after objections were made.
Plans were previously approved for a Bridge Street crossing, but objectors felt the location needed to be reviewed to consider lost parking and an increase in pollution.
Residents opposing the plan suggested the crossing should be built closer to Mill Street roundabout off Bridge Street.
Plans will be decided at a meeting at 10am at County Hall in New Road, Oxford.
