THE mother of Skye Hall has thanked people for their support over the past year as today marks the anniversary of her son’s death.
Five-year-old Skye passed away on August 29, 2014, as a result of radio-chemo neurotoxicity, having battled a brain tumour for a year.
Sally and Andrew Hall, who are also parents to Jesse, launched charity Blue Skye Thinking to fund research into alternative treatments for childhood cancers.
Mrs Hall said the family had been inundated with messages of support and condolences for their “determined” little boy, known for his happy outlook on life.
Speaking of Skye’s positive nature, Mrs Hall said: “‘Make the most of what you have got’ is what he said, and we urge people to live by that every day.”
In July the charity smashed the record for the world’s longest loom band. ‘Loom to the Moon’, as the campaign is known, was inspired by Skye’s wish to make a band long enough to reach the moon.
Mrs Hall added: “We will never get over losing Skye, who brought such maturity and sparkle to the world, but through the journey of life without him physically, we continue to be helped enormously by people we often don’t even know.”
