GCSE results for Oxfordshire in 2015

OXFORD’s state schools were filled with smiling pupils today after they picked up another set of top results.

Some of the biggest state schools in the city including The Cherwell School, Cheney School and Oxford Spires Academy saw their pupils do better than last year.

The percentage of The Oxford Academy pupils who achieved at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C rose from 34 per cent last year to 58 per cent this year.

And there were also strong performances from independent schools and schools in other parts of the county.

Since last year the Government has asked for statistics from schools based upon the pupils' first exam results, not upon any resits. But some schools are refusing to follow this and are releasing information based upon the best overall exam results. We have decided to publish the first results in this table unless stated otherwise.

You can also follow our online picture gallery of GCSE pictures across the county updated throughout Thursday.

A: Number of pupils sitting GCSEs

B: % 5A* to C

C: % 5A* to C including English and Maths
