CHILDREN were fighting fit swung punches after at a weekly self-defence session in South Oxford.
Youngsters aged four and above regularly gathered at South Oxford Comunity Centre in Lake Street to learn Wing Chun Kung Fu, a close-range Chinese martial art specialising in close-range combat.
Trying out some moves on Tuesday was six-year-old Dominic Von Papp, under the watchful eye of instructor Sagie Bogdane.
Ms Bogdane, who has taught Wing Chun for about five years and been practising for eight, said: “The main aim of martial arts for children is to teach them to deal with bullying.
"Wing Chun is about self-defence – if someone corners them in the playground they know how to get out of the situation."
