Neil Harris admits he has a big decision to make ahead of Tuesday’s game with Barnsley after an afternoon to forget from keeper David Forde in today’s 4-0 hiding by Coventry.

The Irish international was caught off his line by Adam Armstrong moments after Lee Gregory had missed an early penalty, with the Coventry striker lobbing the keeper from fully 40 yards to put the visitors ahead.

Forde was then at fault again as Ruben Lameiras beat him at his near post with a left-foot finish to double the advantage in the 19th minute.

Armstrong helped himself to a second five minutes later to put the outcome beyond all doubt and Millwall’s misery was complete ten minutes from time when Jim O’Brien added a fourth.

Harris said: “Missing the penalty didn’t help but I think the first goal was the changing point.

“We didn’t react after the first goal. We didn’t react in a good manner whatsoever.

“Even at 1-0 you think just keep doing what we’ve been doing, and as you’ve seen in the opening two games already we’ve got back in the game no problem.

“The second goal I think was the sucker punch.”

He added: “All of the goals were poor but the second goal was poor.

“The second, third and fourth goals all came from us giving the ball away in possession.

“I will have to speak to my goalkeeping coach Kevin Pressman regarding his (Forde’s) starting position.

“I thought it was a bit of magic by the boy Armstrong also though.”

Forde was back in the team despite an impressive display by Jordan Archer in the midweek 2-1 League Cup defeat against Barnet.

Harris said: “Jordan grew into the game on Tuesday.

“I think Jordan made some great saves on Tuesday.

“But also we feel it wasn’t just the goalkeeping position (today) but all over the park there was certainly food for thought for Tuesday night (v Barnsley).”

And Harris refused to single out Forde or any other player in the dressing room afterwards, instead preferring to make his annoyance clear to all of the squad.

He said: “I didn’t speak individually to any player at full-time, I spoke collectively to the group.

“We will address that from tomorrow.

“I’m far too angry to speak individually at the moment.

“The players will be in for training tomorrow.”
