SCONES and sandwiches were some of the treats a Kidlington couple indulged in for National Afternoon Tea week.

Carl and Salome Parker, along with their six-month-old son Jacob, spent the afternoon at Eynsham Hall in North Leigh, near Witney, where the couple tied the knot three years ago.

The pair were treated to a selection of luxury nibbles, including turkey and apple and cranberry and brie sandwiches.

Their tastebuds were tickled further with a selection of teacakes, cream tea and slices of gateaux.

IT officer Mr Parker, who has lived in Kidlington for five years, said it was easy to choose the hall as their wedding spot in 2012 and they were pleased to return for afternoon tea.

The 32-year-old added: “We got married there so we have an affection about the place .”

Afternoon Tea Week celebrated the heritage of the traditional British cuppa.

The event ran from August 10 until yesterday.
