Florent Battaille, 39, of Withywind Court, Beauchamp Lane, Oxford, admitted possessing a knuckle duster in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on July 17. Fined £712 and ordered to pay a £70 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 criminal courts charge.

Darren Buchan, 29, of Thames View, Abingdon, admitted stealing clothes worth £35 from Matalan in Between Towns Road, Cowley, on July 16. Given a nine-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Vincent Thompson, 51, of no fixed address, admitted being drunk and disorderly in George Street, Oxford, on July 17. Fined £50 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Matthew Dobbs, 26, of Luther Street, Oxford, was convicted of persistently begging in Cornmarket Street, Oxford on May 1. Also convicted of persistently begging in Cornmarket Street on May 11. Admitted failing to surrender to custody without a reasonable excuse at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on June 9. Also failed to surrender to custody without a reasonable excuse at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 30. Fined a total of £100.

BANBURY

James Blackwell, 24, of no fixed address, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order compelling him to attend rehabilitation activity on July 15 and behaving unacceptably and failing to keep in touch with the rehabilitation officer. Fined £40.

Leon Caton, 23, of Harlequin Way, Banbury, admitted possessing cannabis (a class B drug) in Shutford, near Banbury, on April 13. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and a £180 criminal courts charge.

James Duffy, 30, of Frethem Court, Burford, admitted drink-driving in Corndell Gardens, Witney, on July 12. Had 58 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted possessing cocaine (a class A drug) and cannabis (a class B drug), in Witney on the same date. Fined a total of £470 and ordered to pay a £35 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 criminal courts charge. Banned from driving for 12 months.

Darren James, 34, of Tithe Court, Banbury, admitted cultivating five cannabis plants (a class B drug) in Tithe Court, Banbury, on June 5. Made subject to a curfew for six weeks from July 31 until September 12 requiring him to remain at home between 8pm and 8am. Ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 criminal courts charge. Magistrates also ordered plants to be destroyed.

Sagar Taseem, 23, of Woodfield, Banbury, admitted possessing cannabis (a class B drug) in Shutford on April 13. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 criminal courts charge.

Jason Jones, 42, of Welch Way, Witney, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Witney on December 20. Fined £150 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Ryan Kilby, 30, of Cherwell Bank, Lower Heyford, near Bicester, admitted assaulting a man by beating him in Steeple Aston, near Bicester, on July 12. Also admitted damaging a child’s money box in Steeple Aston on the same date. Further admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour with the intent to cause a man harassment, alarm or distress in Steeple Aston on the same date. Fined a total of £250 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Mark Beal, 48, of Ladburn Lane, Shilton, near Burford, admitted assaulting a man by beating him in Witney on July 4. Made subject to a community order requiring him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. Ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Brian Cuss, 42, of Sedge Way, Carterton, admitted possessing a samurai-style sword in Sedge Way on June 27. Also admitted possessing cannabis (a class B drug) in Carterton on the same date. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, £40 costs and a £180 criminal courts charge.

Lloyd Anderson, 64, of no fixed address, admitted being drunk and consuming alcohol at Thornhill Park and Ride, London Road, Headington, on August 4, which he was prohibited from doing by an antisocial behaviour order. Sent to prison for 18 weeks and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and a £180 criminal courts charge.

Cormac Donnelly, 30, of Quarhill Close, Over Norton, admitted damaging a window worth £150 at The Chequers pub in Goddard Lane, Chipping Norton, on June 20 or being reckless as to whether it was damaged or destroyed. Also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe immediate violence would be used against them, or to provoke violence against them between June 19 and June 20 in The Chequers. Made subject to a community order requiring him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. Ordered to pay £150 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and a £150 criminal courts charge. Barred from The Chequers for 12 months.

Daisy Parsons, 18, of Sturt Close, Charlbury, convicted of assaulting a woman by beating her in Charlbury on November 1. Ordered to take part in a Thinking Ahead for Women course for 14 days. Ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £150 costs.

Mohammed Iqbal, 65, of Magdalen Road, Oxford, convicted of failing to comply with a red light at Hinksey roundabout on September 8. Fined £230 and ordered to pay a £23 victims’ surcharge and £500 costs.
