Plans for a 70-bed care home that were deferred last month have now been approved.
At a Cherwell District Council planning committee meeting yesterday 11 councillors voted in favour of the home, focused on elderly people with dementia.
Applicants Castle Mead will start building for care company Port Haven on The Pits, a strip of land on the northern edge of Kidlington near the junction of The Moors.
The home, which could be built by 2016, promises 70 new jobs and 32 car parking spaces.
