YOUNGSTERS enjoyed a day of fun and games at Marlborough School in Woodstock with a range of events organised by Oxfordshire Play Association.

The day was designed to give children and their parents the chance to take part in activities which they could then later replicate at home.

Among the opportunities on offer were drumming, a graffiti wall, nature play, laser tag and a bouldering wall.

One of the children who went along to enjoy the fun was six-year-old Marcie Smith from Woodstock and her mum Jane.

Marcie said: “I thought the best thing was the ice cream but I really enjoyed the drawing wall because I love drawing.”

Oxfordshire Play Association play promotion officer Julia Gaw said: “We run a series of play days across the county.

“The idea is to present children and their parents with lots of different play ideas that they can do at home.”
