THE proposal to both open additional access to the A34 and build a park and ride at Lodge Hill indicates complete ignorance of the reality of the A34.
The current gridlock during morning and evening rush hours, alongside the extensive evidence of the effect of even minor disturbances on traffic flow, will guarantee that if this scheme goes ahead park and ride buses will add to the jams and create no incentive for anyone to use them.
Add to this the sheer comedy of the county council proposing the closure of existing park and rides while the city council is expanding them which only shows the abject leadership that Oxford ‘enjoys’.
Time someone banged their heads together or they did the decent thing and went back to playschool.
Still, it’s only our money paying their six-figure salaries.
