AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a police vehicle was parked in a set-down and pick-up bay at a Morrisons supermarket in Banbury.
Scott Adams, of Banbury, reported the incident to Thames Valley Police after he saw the van parked there on Saturday.
The force has said it will investigate the incident.
Mr Adams, 45, said: “This is not the first time I have seen it happen at Morrisons. Sometimes, they are parked in the parent and child spaces and sometimes it is in the collection and pick-up space.
“It happens often and people just sort of look and sigh.
“I saw the officer walking around shopping.
“I accept that if he was responding to a call-out he might have had to park somewhere like that but this is just a blatant abuse.”
In April 2013, a police officer apologised after an incident where a police car was parked in a parent and child space in Tesco in Marcham Road, Abingdon.
Police spokesman James Williams said: “We received Mr Adams’s complaint on Monday and acknowledged his complaint.
“The matter will now be investigated and we will respond to Mr Adams once the investigation has concluded.
“It would be inappropriate to comment any further while the matter is being investigated.”
