THE roads of South Oxfordshire seemed to step back in time as almost 200 cyclists took part in the Benson Bike Rally.
They set off from Benson Parish Hall on bikes dating from before 1928 and took on a 14-mile jaunt around the area.
Sunday’s good weather allowed them to visit the villages of Roke, Berrick Salome, Chalgrove and Ewelme and take in lunch along the way. Marion Rowlands travelled to the event from her home in Stock-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
The 82-year-old said: “It was a brilliant ride, I have coming for six years.
“The Benson Bike Rally is about vintage bikes and vintage people. It is people who I like to get on with. I couldn’t say a bad word about it.”
