STEWART Mitchell is correct (Oxford Mail, June 25) in saying that local authorities are forcing villages and towns to accept more and more new dwellings to be built in the county without knowing what the population will be in five or 10 years time.
Many on the roads are elderly, in fact, the young must think they are in Jurassic Park! In time, these elderly will pass away. Possibly this will affect the demand for houses and new roads. In fact, the Government is somewhat alarmed at the number of HGV drivers now retiring. They are even considering lowering the cost of the HGV test.
