ARTIST Frederic Chevarin put the finishing touches to a station revamp with his sculpture of a red kite.
The stone sculpture, entitled Red Kite, was unveiled at Haddenham & Thame Parkway ahead of the new rail link between London Marylebone and Oxford Parkway due to open in October.
The artwork is part of £350,000 worth of improvements at the station including walkways, cycle repair facilities and CCTV.
Mr Chevarin, who has lived in Old Marston, Oxford, for 13 years, said the sculpture was a natural fit for the station since during its installation he noticed three red kites flying above him. The 44-year-old added: “I hope this sculpture will inspire commuters to take a minute to stop and think.”
