POLICE want to track down a man who was seen with a woman shortly before she was raped in Deddington.
Officers are looking for a man seen with the victim, a 25-year-old woman, near St Peter and St Paul Church, Church Street last Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
The man is described as white, blonde-haired, slim and about 6ft 1ins or 2ins tall. He was wearing a white polo shirt.
Thames Valley Police were called at 12.20am on the Sunday. They did not say if the man was previously known to the woman.
Det Sgt Richard Pickering, of Banbury CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police immediately.
“I would particularly like to speak to anyone who recognises the description of the man who was seen with the victim before she was found in the churchyard.
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation into the incident; we have conducted CCTV enquiries as well as extra patrols in the village."
