Man waved gun on Internet

A man showed a "fascination with violence" after posting a picture of himself on the Internet wearing a balaclava and waving a gun.

Dean Lissenden, 21, was arrested after an anonymous person sent the pictures downloaded from a website called Bebo to police in Didcot, Oxford Crown Court was told yesterday.

Lissenden admitted possession of a firearm and was in breach of his licence after being released early from jail in August last year, prosecutor Clare Tucker said.

Recorder Joanna Greenberg said: "It shows a fascination with violence.

"Some people find it attractive to pose in a way which appears to be aggressive and violent."

Terence Woods, defending, said Lissenden did not know the Walther air pistol was classed as a firearm or breached his licence conditions.

Lissenden, of Kynaston Road, Didcot, was given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to carry out 18 hours' unpaid community work.

Britain used to have the most lax firearms laws in the world (yes, even laxer than the USA). The crime rate back then was almost non-existent. Now that guns of all forms have been totally banned, the criminals are running the place and you're all sitting around scratching your heads wondering why? And your answers to all this... stick CCTV cameras everywhere, give everyone mandatory ID cards, take their DNA samples and track their vehicles everywhere they go. Sweet!! Stalin, Hitler, Amin and Pol Pot would have been proud.

Err, a lot of states in the US do not allow firearms to be owned by someone with a police record mate, same deal here.

In the UK Air guns need a Firearms license if they are over 12 lb/ft.

The difference is that the US (mostly) still trust their citizens with firearms. The UK doesn't even trust most of its cops with guns, let alone the citizens. Yet the politicians who make these laws still have armed protection. Of course, the UK population have been "conditioned" into thinking on these lines by sensationalistic media over the last couple of decades. Do you think it's any coincidence that one minute you lose your rights to own guns and the next minute the government takes over and spies on your lives? George Orwell was bang on - just off on the dates.

it was a joke but this country just makes the rules up as they go along its ok for rappers and hihop artist to wave guns bout on tv and pictures and stuff but when someone like me does it you get put in front of a judge as for the sentence im still here u feel me
