Oxfordshire County Council has re-shuffled its decision-making cabinet and added two new members.

Tory councillor Ian Hudspeth, who represents Woodstock, has been made cabinet member for transport implementation, taking over from David Robertson who retains his role as deputy leader of the council but becomes cabinet member for strategic transport policy and policy co-ordination.

Fellow Tory county councillor Judith Heathcoat, who represents Faringdon, becomes cabinet member for community safety, replacing Ray Jelf who, along with veteran Don Seale, has lost his place.

Mr Seale's adult learning and cultural services portfolio will be taken on by Jim Couchman, who is already responsible for social care and policy co-ordination.

His new title is cabinet member for social care and community cervices.

John Howell takes on social inclusion and equality issues while leader Keith Mitchell has taken on responsibility for economic development from Roger Belson, the cabinet member for sustainable development.

Meanwhile, Janet Tomlinson becomes the new director for children, young people and families.

Mrs Tomlinson, who will join the council in the summer from Slough Borough Council, has previously worked for Brighton and Hove City Council, West Sussex County Council and East Sussex County Council.

She replaces Keith Bartley, who has left County Hall.
