OXFORD MAGISTRATES

Alan Beeks, 81, of Oxford Road, Kidlington, admitted drink-driving in Ock Street, Abingdon, on April 15. Had 62 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £360 and given a 17-month driving ban. Also told to pay a £36 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Arron Gardner, 29, of no fixed address, admitted possessing 18 buprenorphine tablets, a Class C drug, at Abingdon Police Station, Colwell Drive, Abingdon, on March 29. Ordered to pay a £180 criminal courts charge and detained in the court house until the court rises.

Stephen Sharples, 55, of Burlington Crescent, Oxford, admitted two counts of breaching a non-molestation order on March 17 and March 24 by sending emails when he was banned from doing so by an order made on January 16 by Oxford County Court. Given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 24 months because he has a previous conviction against the same victim. Also made subject to a supervision requirement for 24 months, a 35-day rehabilitation requirement and a 31-day programme requirement. Also told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Laura Emery, 36, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing items worth £68.75 from Sainsbury’s, Oxford, on December 2, two perfumes worth £88 from Boots, Oxford, on April 17, and alcohol worth £40.50 from Tesco in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on January 29. Given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months because of his persistent record for theft, and told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge, £150 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

Donna Phillips, of Kenilworth Way, Banbury, admitted dishonestly failing to promptly notify the Department of Work and Pensions about a change in her circumstances that she knew would affect her entitlement to income support payments, namely that she was living with her partner in Banbury between April 6, 2010, and June 7, 2012. Also admitted making a false statement about the same information to Cherwell District Council to obtain Housing Benefit in June 2013. Given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Justin Branton, 20, of Whittall Street, Kings Sutton, Banbury, admitted drink-driving on Dover Avnue, Banbury, on April 12. Had 64 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs. Banned from driving or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.

Sean Lowry, 46, of Islip Road, Bletchingdon near Kidlington, admitted drink-driving on Church Lane, Weston on the Green, on April 24. Had 95 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £345 and ordered to pay a £35 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Also ordered to pay a £150 criminal courts charge and banned from driving for 24 months.

Grezegorz Sala, 44, of Hornbeam Road, Bicester, admitted being drunk in charge of a child under seven on Spruce Drive, Bicester, on April 23. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Shawn Trinder, 19, of Wenman Road, Witney, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely Welch Way, Witney, on April 21. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence order made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on January 28 for an offence of racially-aggravated common assault. Fined £105 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge. Given a 12-month supervision requirement and a13-week curfew between 7pm and 6am.

Craig Ward, 50, of Woodstock Road, Stonesfield, admitted drink-driving on Greenfield Road, Stonesfield, on April 24. Had 48 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Fined £600 and ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £150 criminal courts charge. Banned from driving or holding a licence for 14 months.

Joanna Checkley, 49, of Finstock High Street, admitted drink-driving on Well Hill, Finstock, on April 22. Had 56 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, £40 costs and £150 criminal courts charge. Banned from driving for 12 months.

Michael Williams, 27, of Werrell Drive, Wootton, admitted drink-driving on Standlake Road, Standlake, on April 24. Had 51 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, £40 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge. Banned from driving or obtaining a licence for 15 months.

Russell French, 38, of Hixet Wood, Charlbury, admitted drink-driving in Waitrose car park in Witney on April 17. Had 55 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge. Banned from driving or holding a driving licence for 14 months.

Ian Graylish, 29, of Broad Street, Bampton, admitted drink-driving on the A40 in Carterton on March 15. Had 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £200, ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving or holding a licence for 20 months.

Barbara Hewison, 59, of Cromwell Road, Banbury, admitted making a false statement or representation to the Department for Work and Pensions in order to claim jobseeker’s allowance. Given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Joan Cable, 36, of Oliver Road, Oxford, convicted of driving an unlicensed vehicle on the A40 in Oxford on November 23. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £90 costs.

John Conway, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, convicted of driving an unlicensed vehicle on the A40 in Oxford on November 23. Fined £200, ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £37.50 and £90 costs.

Johnny Jorgensen, of Banbury Road, Oxford, convicted of driving an unlicensed vehicle on the A40 in Oxford on November 21. Fined £200, told to pay vehicle excise back duty of £38.34 and £90 costs.

Peter Kovarik, of Spruce Drive, Bicester, convicted of keeping an unlicensed vehicle in Spruce Drive, Bicester, a public road, on October 16. Fined £200 and ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £34.17 and £90 costs.

Antonio Salbtiano, of Collinwood Road, Headington, convicted of driving a vehicle on an unlicensed road on the A40 in Oxford on November 21. Fined £200 and ordered to pay vehicle excise back duty of £30 and £90 costs.

Thomas Clive, 26, of The Green, Stadhampton, convicted of travelling by train without buying a ticket on March 2. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £19.80 compensation, a £40 victims’ surcharge and £130 costs.

Trevor Cooknell, 47, of Chelmscote Row, Wardington, Banbury, admitted depositing controlled waste on land behind his house without an environment permit between April 8 and October 23, including window frames, concrete slabs, an electric lawn mower and a trailer containing scrap. Also admitted treating refrigerators and fridge-freezers, in a manner likely to cause pollution of the environment or harm to human health over the same period. Also admitted failing to comply with a notice from the waste authority Cherwell District Council. Fined £220 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £343.68 costs.

Benjamin Stevens, 27, of Caernarvon Way, Banbury, admitted depositing controlled waste, namely a wooden cabinet, a metal computer tower and assorted boxes of household waste on the pavement in Wesley Lane, Bicester, without the authority of an environment permit on August 4 in Banbury. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £408.89 costs.

Joel Wharton, of Howard Road, Banbury, was convicting of keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements. Fined £200, ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £110 costs.

Joseph Winkley, of Polstead Road, Oxford, was convicted of driving an unlicensed vehicle on a public road, namely the A40 in Oxford, on November 24. Fined £200, ordered to pay £24.17 vehicle excise back duty and £90 costs.

Claire Eversfield, 36, of Hill Crescent, Finstock, near Chipping Norton, was convicted of failing to comply with a School Attendance Order served upon her on November 10 with regard to her child. Fined £200 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £1,000 costs.

Caroline Jones, 26, of Harlech Close, Banbury, admitted failing to notify Cherwell District Council of changes in circumstances which she knew would affect her entitlement to benefits, namely that her partner was working in Banbury between January 27 and June 1. Also admitted failing to notify the council of an increase in her earning also affecting her entitlement between August 5, 2013 and June 15, 2014. Fined £220 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £200 costs.

Michael Fountain, 26, of Mold Crescent, Banbury, admitted drink-driving in Beaumont Road, Banbury, on April 19. Had 111 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the legal limit of 35mcg. Banned from driving for 27 months, told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Freddie Fuller, 31, of Crawley Road, Witney, admitted drink-driving on Alvescot Road, Carterton, on April 19. Had 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Fined £500 and ordered to pay a £50 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge. Banned from driving or holding a licence for 20 months.

Bradley Bland, 24, of Hightown Road, Banbury, admitted burgling Tesco Metro store in Oxford with intent to steal on April 5 and failing to answer bail at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on April 20. Given a Community Order requiring six months of alcohol dependency treatment and ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £150 criminal courts charge.
