NEW Bridport Reserves’ manager Shaun Annetts will start his role in charge of the Bees against Wareham Rangers at St Mary’s Field today (3pm).

Annetts, who has replaced outgoing boss Robin Townsend, is full of respect for the backroom staff around him and can’t wait to get started.

“I am undoubtedly looking forward to it,” he told Echosport.

“Mark Lock, who is going to be with me and was Robin’s assistant, will be heavily involved and may even make the final decisions for the next two games.

“I want to be respectful to Mark, it is still this season and it will be diplomatic.

“I have been with these players for around two years and I know what they can and can’t do. They are a good bunch and I’m looking forward to working with them.”

Annetts also gave an outline as to what his plans are for the future.

He added: “Part of my role will be to provide some players for Trevor in the first team and, if I can improve the reserve team as a whole at the same time that will be good.

“We have to bring in some new faces next year and also try to include part of the youth set-up as well. Hopefully it will freshen things up and there will be a little bit more competition for places.”

Alan Hill is not expected to be used today after featuring for the reserves in the Dorset Senior Trophy final, Luke King is unavailable, and Dan Peart has picked up a knock.
