OXFORD MAGISTRATES

Adam Kupka, 27, of no fixed address, admitted trespassing in St Andrew’s Church in Oxford and stealing 50 keys and a biscuit of an unknown value between March 27 and March 29. Sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £100 compensation and an £80 victim surcharge.

Winston Fine, 50, of Territorial Way, Oxford, admitted stealing various items worth £60 at Nisa in Blackbird Leys Road, Oxford, on March 22. Made subject to a curfew for 28 days meaning he must remain in his home between 9pm and 7am. Ordered to pay £60 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.

Kevin McCarthy, 20, of Westbrook, Faringdon, admitted failing to turn up for a class A drug test on February 2 in Oxford. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Jeremy Stoner, 48, of Mill Road, Wolvercote, admitted damaging a body camera belonging to Thames Valley Police with intent to destroy or damage it on February 1 in Oxford. Also admitted assaulting a police officer by beating him on the same date. Ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work and to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Sean Robins, 19, of Derwent Avenue, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Park End Street in Oxford on March 7. Also admitted possessing two small wraps of heroin, a class A drug, in Park End Street on the same date. Fined a total of £350 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £25 victim surcharge.

Timothy Faulkner, 32, of Windrush Road, Berinsfield, near Wallingford, admitted using a motor vehicle on a public road in Summertown, Oxford, without insurance on August 30. Fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.

Shaun Kelly, 44, of Newbridge Road, Standlake, admitted drink driving on the A415 at Kingston Bagpuize on March 23. Had 101 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath over the 35mcg legal limit. Given a community order requiring six months of alcohol dependency treatment and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Also given a 12-month supervision requirement, banned from driving for 40 months and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Daniel Gillett, 29, of Bowness Avenue, Didcot, admitted possessing heroin, a Class A drug, in Oxford on February 15. Fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Stuart Nixon, 27, of The Ridings, Kidlington, admitted stealing £445.92 worth of alcohol from Tesco Metro in Faringdon on January 18, £443.88 worth of alcohol from the same shop on January 19, and £94 worth of alcohol from Waitrose in Witney the same day. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £500 compensation and a £15 victim surcharge.

James Bisson, 19, of Springfield Road, Wantage, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely Wantage Market Place, on January 1. Given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Julian Gunnett, 39, of Wilsdon Way, Kidlington, admitted stealing £60 worth of food from BP Express service station in Oxford on January 15. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £5 compensation.

Mark Artus, 51, of Burford Road, Brize Norton, admitted driving on a public road, namely the A40, on July 31, without valid insurance. Fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with six points.

Darren Day, 38, of no fixed address, was convicted of assaulting a woman by beating her in Orchard Way, Banbury, on March 19. Also admitted contacting her between December 12 and March 19 which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order made at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 20. Sent to prison for 12 weeks because the offence was so serious and ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Alice Ashcroft, 22, of Abbott Road, Didcot, admitted stealing toiletries worth £67 from Boots in Didcot on March 3. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on January 16 for two counts of theft. Community order made with 40-hour unpaid work requirement and told pay a £60 victim surcharge.

James Pritchard, 26, of Vetch Place, Oxford, was convicted of assault in Oxford on October 11. Community order made with 150-hour unpaid work requirement and told to pay £500 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge and £650 costs.

Gareth Kilby, 46, of Paradise Street, Oxford, admitted stealing two bottles of vodka worth £31 from Sainsbury’s in the Westgate Shopping Centre, Oxford, on March 30. Told to pay £31 compensation and £85 costs.

Aaron Pearson, 29, of Bourton Close, Witney, admitted assault by beating in Wadards Meadow, Witney, on April 2. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on March 2 by Banbury Magistrates’ Court for two counts of theft. Community order made with six-month alcohol treatment requirement and six-month supervision requirement. Also told to pay £50 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Robert Appleby, 23, of Van Diemans Road, Thame, admitted causing criminal damage to a car door mirror worth £200, a car door mirror worth £300 and a car door mirror of unknown value in Oxford on January 31. Fined £225 and ordered to pay £600 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
