SEVEN people have been arrested in Oxford after a drugs raid in the city centre, police have revealed.

Police raided Bookbinders Court in St Thomas Street, on April 15 at 4pm

Officers said a “significant quantity” of what is believed to be Class A drugs was recovered, along with drugs paraphernalia.

Four people from Oxford were arrested, along with two people from London and one person of no fixed address.

A 28-year-old woman and two men, aged 28 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

The woman and 38-year-old were bailed until June 10, and the 28-year-old man was bailed until June 12.

A 31-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

A 38-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

They were both bailed until June 10.

Two men from Ealing, aged 19 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug respectively.

They were both bailed until June 12.

Pc Mark Miller said: “Thames Valley Police will not tolerate the supply of drugs in our community.

“These warrants and arrests are an example of some of the work officers are doing to crackdown on drugs offences in Oxford.

“Illegal drugs can have a devastating impact on communities and if anyone has any information about drugs offences I would urge them to contact police via the 101 number.”
