A FORMER chief executive of supermarket giant Tesco is to visit Oxford next week to inspire students at Oxford Media and Business School.
Sir Terry Leahy, who was chief executive of the firm between 1997 and 2011, started stacking shelves in stores before working his way up to the boardroom.
He will speak to students at the school about how the role of personal assistants and other executive staff is continually evolving and he will give them practical insight into the role of a chief executive.
Oxford Media and Business School principal Andrea Freeman said: "We teach students the practical skills to get their first job but those skills are continually evolving.
"This talk will give our students the opportunity to hear one of the UK’s most famous business leaders share his experience of working with support staff.
"We are incredibly excited that Sir Terry has found time in his busy schedule to talk to our students”.
Sir Terry will speak from 11am to noon in the Grande Hall at Oxford Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre in St Ebbe's.
