AFTER reading the report in The Press (dated March 29), regarding the outcome of the fracas between Jeremy Clarkson and Oisin Tymon, I can’t help thinking that perhaps Mr Clarkson has other problems on his mind, apart from the short fuse which caused him to act in this unacceptable way.

Anyway, the man has lost his job; that’s punishment enough.

Mr Tymon has informed North Yorkshire police that he does not wish to take any further action against Mr Clarkson, so why would the police still need to continue with this case, unless of course there is a reason?

Police efforts would be better spent on real problems in the area, and York, where we have a drug culture which causes much stress and heartache for so many people and their families.

I am aware that the police are doing their best to deal with this situation, but much more time and money needs spending to free us of this little talked-about underworld in York.

It is not only the dealers of drugs that need to be dealt with, but the people who are addicted to the various drugs and it’s well known that a lot of dealers are also addicts.

Maybe if we could set up special units to cure and rehabilitate addicts, there would be less customers for the dealers. I know this problem is not only in York, but I live here and I am sick and tired of seeing the results of too many drugs.
