TWO people appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court today following a series of dawn raids by police investigating slavery allegations.
Christopher Joyce, 81, and Mary Joyce, 59, both of Redbridge Hollow, Old Abingdon Road, face a number of charges relating to one alleged victim.
Both face one count of conspiracy to hold another person in slavery and one count of conspiracy to require another person to perform forced labour, both between April 6, 2010 and February 9, 2015.
They also face one count of conspiracy to defraud between April 2, 2002 and February 9, 2015.
Both defendants were given conditional bail to appear at Oxford Crown Court on April 17.
Nine arrests were made following police raids at Redbridge Hollow, Blackbird Leys and in the Rose Hill area last Thursday.
