COMMUTERS were caught up in rush-hour chaos yesterday after Glasgow's Subway was affected by circuit failures.

The outer circle line was suspended for more than two hours due to failures connecting the Partick to Kelvinhall line and the West Street and Shields Road line.

A spokeswoman for SPT, which operates the Subway, said: "The outer circle was down from 8.10am until 10.35am due to two track circuit failures. Extra trains were put on the inner circle to ease commuter congestion. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to commuters."
