A CHARITY formed four months ago is launching an appeal to raise #10,000 to help Glasgow's youth.

The Sir James Robertson Charitable Trust has already raised #40,000 from a lunch attended by representatives of businesses and organisations.

The trust was established in memory of a former Glasgow chief constable to fund training of voluntary youth leaders.

Sir David McNee, who succeeded Sir James as chief constable of Glasgow, said: ''James Robertson was passionately devoted to the young people of Glasgow and their development into adulthood.

''His great vision was to support and encourage the training of leaders to work with the youth of our city.''
