A woman whose large breasts gave years of physical and emotional pain is over the moon her misery is finally over.

Emma Trinder had a breast reduction operation last Thursday after a catalogue of delays.

The hold-ups were prompted by a hospital blunder, which meant her notes went missing for four years, as well as two cancelled operations The 24-year-old, of Postern Terrace, Kidlington, who had been on anti-depressants for seven years, went under the knife at 12.30pm to have her H-cup breasts reduced to DD-cups.

Two weeks earlier, she had spent 11 hours on a hospital bed waiting to be operated on, only to be told that the procedure had been cancelled at the last minute.

But now, after years of feeling people were talking to her chest rather than her face and having the pain of bras cutting into her back, she said she feels like a new woman.

"They are exactly the size I wanted them," said the fire control centre operator. "I don't look out of proportion and I have got my middle back.

"My posture is normal when I am walking around now and I feel a lot better about myself. People have picked up on that and I am a lot more confident.

"To finally have it done after waiting for so long is an amazing feeling of relief."

After being let down so many times, Miss Trinder said she never quite believed the operation would go ahead until the moment she was being wheeled down the hospital corridor to the theatre.

She said: "I was a bit mean to the hospital staff. They kept saying we are nearly ready for you', but I said don't be surprised, but I don't believe you'.

"Then they took me down to the theatre and I was petrified, very scared."

It will still be another three months before the bruising and swelling has completely disappeared and the breasts have settled into their final position.

But Miss Trinder said she was looking forward to having a choice of bras for the first time in her life.

She said: "I'll have to wear supportive things for a few weeks, but it will be so nice to be able to have a nice selection of bras for once.

"It will change my whole outlook on things.

"Already I feel like a completely different person."

And things will only get better. I had a reduction a year ago and my life has changed drastically. I am much healthier than ever before and my depression is in remission. I have no neck, shoulder, or back pain. I am finally living a good active life. I recommend it for anyone that has the same problem. But make sure you find a respectable doctor to do the procedure. It is not minor surgery in anyway. Ease during the recovery period is a must. Hurrah for her.

Did you read this article all the way through? By no means did she want this porcedure to 'conform' to anything! She wanted it mainly to ease her back/neck & shoulder pain and allow herself a better quality of life. Believe me, no-one who goes through this procedure, does it purely for aesthetic reasons.

Congratulations! I am going for a reduction next wednesday and i am a bit nervous but reading your story and looking at your results make me that bit more confident and i cant wait for the pain to stop. As for people like Bubba Boobie, you cant stop them expressing their opinions. Those people usually dont have a clue what they are talking about. You did it for yourself and good on you girl, you look fantastic!

I want to have a reduction so very bad, but my biggest fear is what are my work colleagues, and friends going to say? I am very private and just want to I would just like to sneak away have the surgery and no one notice. For the ones of you that have had a reduction can you please tell me what people said to you after your surgery?
