A man has been sentenced to more than six years behind bars after pleading guilty to drug offences.
Wakas Khan, 22, of Furlong Close, Blackbird Leys, pleaded guilty on the first day of his trial yesterday to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
He was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court to six years and three months’ imprisonment.
Khan was arrested on October 30 last year after being seen by officers dealing drugs in the Covered Market in Oxford.
Investigating officer PC Tom Mason, based at St Aldate’s police station, said: “Drug dealing will absolutely not be tolerated in Oxford and we are committed to tackling this type of offence.
“I am pleased that this man is off the streets of Oxford.”
