  • KENYATA BOWEN, 40, of Hearthway, Banbury, admitted stealing perfume from Debenhams in Banbury on January 27 and January 21. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £120 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • ANTHONY CHILTON, 28, of Edmunds Road, Banbury, admitted four counts of theft from a Co-op in Ruscote Arcade, Longlands Way, Banbury, on February 16. Stole meat, alcohol and cigarettes worth total of £2,258.87. Also admitted possessing cannabis in the Fairway, Banbury, on February 17. Given 15-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months because of high value of items stolen, some of crimes were on same day and he has a record of offending. Told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £12 compensation.
  • LEIGH LESTER, 41, of School Lane, Banbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Banbury on February 14. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on October 8 by Banbury Magistrates’ Court for stealing three children’s jackets worth £35 from Sports Direct. Community order made and ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work. Also given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • TESSA STEPHENS, 20, of St Johns Way, Hempton, near Banbury, convicted of stealing a laptop worth £325 from Newbridge House, Lambs Crescent, Banbury, on September 14. Also admitted an assault by beating in Banbury on September 17. Given a 22-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months because it was a vulnerable person, a breach of trust and she has a previous record of offending. Made subject to a supervision requirement and a Thinking Ahead for Women programme requirement. Also told to pay £500 compensation and an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  • JAMES ALDERTON, 37, of Newton Morrell, Bicester, admitted stealing wine and cider worth £35.45 from Tesco in Bicester on October 29 and wine and toilet rolls worth £10 from Tesco in Bicester on January 24. Fined £265 and told to pay £45.45 compensation, a £27 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • SHANE BURDEN, 21, of Dovehouse Close, Eynsham, admitted criminally damaging a mobile phone in Sutton on August 21 and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress at Stanton Harcourt on September 1. Fined £270 and ordered to pay a £21 victims’ surcharge. Restraining order made against his victim.
  • LUKE DAY, 31, of Farnborough Road, Mollington, admitted racially or religiouslyaggravated common assault in Banbury on August 20. Also admitted failing to answer bail at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on March 4. Community order made with a supervision required and ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • BARRY SANDERS, 38, of Jubilee Court, Banbury, admitted receiving stolen goods, namely a Fujifilm digital camera worth £180, at Banbury on December 30. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £37 compensation and a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  • MATTHEW MORTIMER, 41, of Gloucester Place, Witney, admitted assaulting a police constable in the execution of duty at Banbury Police Station, Warwick Road, Banbury, on September 20. Community order made requiring six months of alcohol dependency treatment and a 12-month supervision order. Also ordered to pay £50 compensation and a £60 victims’ surcharge.
  • JESSICA TUSTAIN, 22, of Howard Road, Banbury, admitted assaulting a man by beating him, possessing two razor blades in a public place, and stealing £80.70 worth of scented diffusers from Clinton Cards at Castle Quay, Banbury, on January 31. Given a community order requiring six months of drug rehabilitation treatment. Also ordered to pay £100 compensation.
  • OXFORD DEREK WOOD, 56, of New Inn Road, Beckley, near Oxford, admitted speeding at 37mph in a 30mph section of Bayswater Road, Oxford, on February 15. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Given three points on his driving licence.
  • ROY LOCKE, 63, of Fieldside, Upton, near Didcot, admitted driving without due care and attention in Ock Street, Abingdon on August 29. Fined £135 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and costs of £85. Driving record endorsed with three points.
  • ISOBEL MCKAY, 27, of Barberi Close, Oxford, admitted speeding at 38mph in a 30mph zone on the A44 Oxford Road in Woodstock on May 28. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Driving licence endorsed with three points.
  • SIMON COWLARD, 39, of Atwell Close, Wallingford, admitted speeding at 36mph in a 30mph zone on A4074, Warborough, near Wallingford, on June 13. Fined £150 and ordered to pay £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Driving licence endorsed with three points.
