AN 18-year-old girl whose death drew a wave of social media tributes may have taken an overdose of a presecription drug, an assistant coroner has said.
Megan Biddle, a pupil at Lord Williams's School in Thame, died on Monday last week.
Opening an inquest into her death today at Oxford Coroner's Court, assistant coroner Alison Thompson said she had possibly taken an overdose of the prescription medication, but said there were "no significant findings" yet.
The drug is used to treat a number of conditions including anxiety and angina.
It can reduce heart rate, help the heart beat more regularly and lower blood pressure.
Ms Thompson said Megan, of Clarendon Drive, Thame, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, on Sunday and pronounced dead the next day.
She adjourned the inquest to be concluded on August 19. In the meantime she asked for a toxicology report to be prepared.
