Ian Holloway is refusing to accept Saturday’s vital fixture at drop rivals Rotherham could make or break Millwall’s season.

The Lions will make their first ever appearance at the New York Stadium still sat in the final relegation spot after last night’s disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Hosts Rotherham were also well beaten at Watford 3-0 but currently hold a three point advantage over Holloway’s side with a better goal difference.

All that could change if Millwall bounce back with victory in Yorkshire, even though the Den chief will keep the result in perspective should that happen.

Holloway said: “It is no bigger than the other 12 we’ve got after that.

“It would be good to start winning now when I believe we can if we forget the last bits (v Sheffield Wednesday), look at it, analyse it, chew it but don’t dwell on it and move on as a team.

“We need to do that because on Saturday we could realistically climb out of this problem we are in at the moment by beating them.

“It is a fact if you look at the scoreline, if you look at the stats, if you look at the table so that is the reality of it.”

He added: “What we’ve got to is make sure that we don’t get that result (v Sheffield Wednesday last night) and we move on.

“In football at the moment that is it. Some of these Premier League teams lose 8-0 and are strong enough to come back the following week and get a result, so we’ve got to be bigger and better than that.

“We are losing at home, let’s get on, let’s move on.

“I don’t want to lose at home, I want to win in front of my fans and if I do they’ll feel a lot better than they did tonight.”
