Andrew Bowley, 52, of Katchside, Sutton Courtenay, admitted failing to meet the insurance requirements of his vehicle in Wallingford in April 2014. He was fined £130 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £110 costs.

Jason Harris, 44, of Stubbs Avenue, Oxford, admitted begging in a public place, namely Sainsbury’s on Magdalen Street West, Oxford, on October 22. He also admitted committing an offence while subject to a 12-month conditional discharge given at Oxford Magistrates’ Court for begging on October 25, 2013. He was given a further 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Antony Cheswick, 37, of Thames View, Abingdon, admitted stealing a “quantity of bottles” worth £71.96 from Co-op, in Bury Street, Abingdon, on October 26. He was fined £75 and ordered to pay £71.96 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

John Clissold, 19, of Christmas Common, Watlington, admitted possessing seven wraps of MDMA, a class A drug, at Nethercote Lane, Lewknor, on November 9. He was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Ali Atashgah, 28, of Croft Avenue, Kidlington, admitted failing to carry out unpaid work on November 28 as ordered by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on October 27. He was told to carry out an extra 10 hours of unpaid work on top of the 100 hours originally ordered.

Craig Honey, 19, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on August 4 by failing to keep in touch with a responsible officer. He was ordered to carry out five more hours’ unpaid work on top of the 145 already ordered.

Carl Baird, 33, of Chillingworth Crescent, Oxford, admitted using threatening and abusive words or behaviour in Oxford on November 4, 2014. He was fined £133 and told to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £85 in costs.

John Phelan, 23, of Oliver Road, Oxford, admitted assaulting a constable in the execution of her duty and being drunk and disorderly in Craufurd Road, Oxford, on December 24. He was fined £450 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £40 and £85 in costs.

James Qualter, 47, of Masons Road, Oxford, admitted stealing four packs of chicken worth £16 from a Sainsbury’s store in Cowley Road, Oxford on October 16, 2014. He was already on conditional discharge for a similar offence in Oxford on May 6, 2014. He was fined £125 and told to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £40 in costs.

Bernard Day, 43, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted begging in Cornmarket Street, Oxford on December 10, 2014. He was given a 35-month Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from begging or sitting on the floor or unauthorised seating in Oxford. He was fined £60 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20.

Jack Murphy, 24, of Ashhurst Way, Oxford, admitted stealing groceries worth £80 from a Co-Op store in Iffley Road, Oxford on October 21, 2014, and to stealing meat worth £49.12 from a Co-Op store in Cowley Road, Oxford on November 1, 2014. He was fined £150 and told to pay £80 in compensation and a victims’ surcharge of £20.

Simone Andrews, 29, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted stealing clothing and Halloween products worth £75 from an Asda store in Between Towns Road on October 31, 2014. Already on a 12-month conditional discharge for a similar offence, she admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by not keeping in touch with a responsible officer and was fined a total of £100.

Christopher Stringer, 49, of Culham Road, Wheatley, admitted stealing numerous garden ornaments, worth £345, from Maidenhead Aquatics store, in London Road, on December 17. He also admitted causing criminal damage to a concrete garden deer worth £65 at the store and was fined £265 and told to pay £65 in compensation, a victims’ surcharge of £27 and £85 in costs.

Clifford Taylor, 77, of Hawthorn Avenue, Oxford, admitted owning a dangerous black, white and brown Border collie that caused injury to a person in Hawthorn Avenue, Oxford on October 6, 2014. He was told to keep the dog on a lead, to pay £100 in compensation, a victims’ surcharge of £15 and £85 in costs.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

Ebrima Sanyang, 27, of Middleton Road, Banbury, admitted stealing £1,000 in Banbury on December 24, fraud by false representation in High Street, Banbury on December 24, fraud by false representation in High Street, Banbury on December 25, and fraud by false representation in Bridge Street, Banbury on December 26. He was given a 14-day jail term because of a breach of trust and a disproportionate affect on his victim.
