LIVE traffic information, marshalls to organise vehicles and the legal force to ban parking are among ideas to tackle Boxing Day congestion around Bicester Village this year.
Whether they work remains to be seen.
Some will calculate that it is worth waiting in traffic for the prospect of a parking space a short dash from their favourite store.
The idea of sitting on a bus – no matter how modern and warm – may also be alien to many shoppers who perhaps left such travel behind when they left school.
The same with banning parking on residential streets.
Only time will tell whether these good intentions have the right impact on human behaviour.
