OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  1. Thomas Chater, 36, of Thorney Leys, Witney, admitted being drunk in public, in Witney High Street, on November 4. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  2. Stephanos Kailas, 24, of Purcell Road, Marston, admitted driving while unfit through drugs on the A420 near Tubney on July 8. He was fined £274 and ordered to pay a £27 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned from driving for 20 months.
  3. Mark McGowan, 25, of Sherbourne Road, Witney, admitted failing to attended unpaid work sessions on April 1 ordered by Hamilton Sheriff Court in October 2013 as part of a community order. He was fined £266 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge.
  4. Jamie Lewis, 18, of Jersey Road, Oxford, admitted driving a motorcycle in Watlington Road, Cowley, Oxford, without insurance, without a valid test certificate and not wearing a helmet, while disqualified on October 3. He was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months.
  5. Bernard Day, 43, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted begging in public at SGM, in St Aldate’s, Oxford, on October 22, having been previously convicted of the same offence. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  6. William Lowe, 25, of Crossville Crescent, Didcot, admitted drink-driving in Reading Road, Wallingford, on November 8. He had 48 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35mg. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs, and was banned from driving for 14 months.
  7. Geoffrey Muirhead, 34, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted using racially or religiously-aggravated threatening words or behaviour to intimidate a person in Oxford on November 22. He was sent to prison for 14 days and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
  8. Celvin Nankivell, 24, of Middle Furlong, Didcot, admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause PC Mark Russell to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him in Broadway, Didcot on November 9. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £30 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  9. Carl Tutty, 34, of Dulas Close, Didcot, admitted criminally damaging property belonging to Oxfordshire Estate Ltd to the value of £132 at Dulas Close on March 3. He was told to pay £132 compensation and £85 costs.
  10. Tony Keogh, 26, of Donnington Bridge Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause a person to believe violence would be used against them in Donnington Bridge Road on July 3. He was given a three-month prison sentence suspended for two years, and a restraining order made against the victim until November 23, 2015. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation and an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  11. Christopher Alford, 29, of Grebe Close, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Abingdon, on October 2. He had 183 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of urine, over the legal limit of 107mg. He was banned from driving for 16 months, fined £400 and told to pay a £40 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  1. Leighton James, 30, of Stocks Walk, Carterton, admitted stealing two Maximuscle containers worth £80 from Boots, in High Street, Witney, and a Dolce and Gabbana perfume set worth £62 from Debenhams, in Marriotts Walk, Witney, on November 13. He also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence made on April 22 by Oxford Magistrates’ Court for two thefts. He was given a 12-week prison sentence because of his persistent dishonesty and because he was subject to a suspended sentence at the time, and told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  2. Andrew Talbot, 40, of Brookside Way, Bloxham, near Banbury, admitted drink-driving in Little Bridge Road, Bloxham, near Banbury, on October 29. He had 100 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. A community order was made with a 200-hour unpaid work requirement and he was told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. He was given 42-month driving ban.
  3. Steven Fisher, 54, of Park End, Bodicote, near Banbury, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Adderbury, near Banbury, on August 21. He had 298mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80mg. A community order was made with a 200-hour unpaid work requirement and he was told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. He was given a 30-month driving ban.
  4. Andrew Nesbit, 36, of no fixed address, admitted stealing aftershave worth £50 from Debenhams, in Banbury, on November 14. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £45 costs.
  5. Darryl Towle, 21, of Kemps Road, Twyford, near Banbury, admitted possessing one joint of cannabis, a class B drug, in Middleton Road, Banbury on September 17. He also admitted possessing a stun gun in Kemps Road, Twyford, near Banbury, on the same date. He was fined £175 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  6. Benjamin Winfield, 22, of Abbey Road, Witney, admitted assault on November 8 in Abbey Road, Witney. He was fined £165 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  7. Kieron Barnes, 23, of no fixed address, admitted breaching a restraining order by contacting two people he was banned from contacting in Chester Way, Banbury, on November 23. He also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress between Kings Sutton and Heyford railway stations on December 2. Magistrates decided to jail him for 17 weeks because it was his seventh breach of the restraining order and he had shown a lack of compliance with court orders.
  8. Edward Hickman, 28, of Farmers Close, Witney, admitted possessing cocaine, a class A drug, and cannabis, a class B drug, in Witney on November 7. A community order was made with a 120-hour unpaid work requirement and he was told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  9. Nicola Poole, 31, of Merton Street, Banbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, in Middleton Road, Banbury, on November 7. She was given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
