A COUNCIL is to stop placing people in a hostel where 17-year-old Jayden Parkinson lived before she was murdered.

Oxfordshire County Council said it will “decommission” One Foot Forward in Iffley Road.

Didcot’s Jayden was murdered by ex-boyfriend Ben Blakeley, 22, who was jailed for a minimum 20 years in July after a trial.

He strangled Jayden in open countryside south of Didcot after she met him to say she was pregnant with his child.

Then he buried her body in the grave of his uncle Alan Kennedy in a cemetery near All Saint's Church in Didcot.

Jayden left the One Foot Forward hostel on Iffley Road at 3.27pm on the day she disappeared, December 3 last year.

Council spokesman Paul Smith said: "Oxfordshire County Council has long planned to recommission supported housing provision and that process has been in train for some time.

"BCHA, the organisation that runs One Foot Forward on the Iffley Road, has decided not to make a bid as part of this normal process.

"As a consequence of this, the service will be decommissioned by 31st March 2015.

"We are working with the provider and Oxford City Council to ensure that the young people currently residing there safely transfer to other provision."

BCHA has yet to comment.
