The funeral of muscular dystrophy fundraiser James Lewis takes place today in Cowley.

The Farmoor man, who suffered from the degenerative condition, spent much of his life raising money to help others with the condition and regularly took part in the Oxford Town and Gown run.

The 27-year-old died on November 13 after suffering breathing problems.

A service is due to take place at The Friary, in St Mary’s Road, Cowley, at 1.30pm. His coffin has been custom made by Oxford company Colourful Coffins.
