COMMONWEALTH Games medallist Ben Watson gave Chrislin Bose a boost when he called in to see youngsters at Oxford Children’s Hospital.

On a visit to the hospital on Tuesday, he stopped for a laugh and a joke with the four-year-old, after attending a sports taster day at the hospital’s school.

Chrislin, from Banbury, has been receiving treatment on Kamran’s ward.

Mr Watson, 24, from Didcot, finished third at this year’s games in Glasgow, after an impressive debut display in the 105kg category.

He said: “I was asked to go along to the taster day and we did some PE and some dance with the children and then I went round the wards. It was inspirational meeting patients like Chrislin and it was great to put a smile on their faces.”

The children’s hospital, on the the John Radcliffe Hospital site in Headington, treats more than 60,000 young patients from Oxfordshire and from across the country every year.
