PUPILS at St Gregory the Great School attended a religious question time with spiritual leaders.

The inter-faith question time was held on Wednesday as part of inter faith week at the East Oxford school, which aims to let pupils find out more about religions.

More than 300 sixth form pupils were in the school hall to listen to representatives of Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism, and Catholic and Anglican branches of Christianity answer questions about faith.

Sixteen-year-old Dylan Chambers said: “I am really surprised to hear different questions and different views but the responses from the different religions are similar and they are relevant to modern society.

“It reflects that religion is important and has a place in society.”

Assistant principal Marie Therese Weston said: “The idea behind inter faith week is really to build on faith because we are a Catholic school.

“We wanted to build faith across all communities and make sure we are not just focusing on the Christian faith because we have kids of so many different faiths here.

“The event went really well.”
