A man was placed in a headlock and robbed on a bridge in Oxford, police said.
The 20-year-old was walking over the Friars Wharf footbridge towards Marlborough Road when a man approached him at about midnight on Thursday .
Police said he was put in a headlock and the attacker threatened him and demanded money.
The victim handed over money before struggling free and running away unhurt, Thames Valley Police said today.
The force said the attacker had light brown skin, was about 6ft and may have been accompanied by a woman.
Investigating officer Det Con Benjamin Yeats said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the robbery and I would appeal for anyone with any information or any witnesses to contact police.
“High visibility patrols have been taking place in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach an officer.”
