OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  1. Paul Armstrong, 34, of Amory Close, Oxford, admitted contacting a woman he was prohibitted from contacting by a non-molestation order in Headington on October 24. Given a four-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  2. David French, 30, of no fixed address, admitted stealing a cash till and £130 from Whatley Hall Hotel in Banbury on October 23. Sent to prison for four weeks and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
  3. Ralph Porter, 35, of no fixed address, admitted stealing six bottles of Bacardi rum, worth £108, from Tesco in Bicester on October 23, while subject to a suspended sentence given at Somerset Magistrates’ Court on April 1 for theft. Sent to prison for three weeks.
  4. Martin Radbourne, 32, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a pedal cycle worth £200 in Oxford on August 22. Given an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  5. Paul Sawyer, 48, of Crowell Street, Oxford, admitted begging at SGM in Catte Street, Oxford, on October 2. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge. Anti-social behaviour order made, prohibiting the defendant from begging for money, food or drink in Oxford as bounded by the ring road for two years.
  6. Charles Codie, 23, of Cuddesdon Way, Blackbird Leys, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Wallingford on September 4. Fined £105 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  7. Robert Wells, 37, of North Way, Headington, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in SGM, Summertown, Oxford and resisting PCs Tidman and Fullerton in the execution of their duty on June 22. Also admitted obstructing Pc Finch in the execution of duty, possessing cocaine, a Class A drug and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on Godstow Road, Oxford, on September 13. Given a community order requiring 10-day participation in a Managing Alcohol- Related Aggression course. Also ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  8. Darren Wiggins, 43, of Upper Field, Chinnor, admitted destroying a vehicle window to the value of £330 on Elm Drive, Chinnor, on August 12 without reasonable excuse. Ordered to pay £330 compensation.
  9. Ian Yardley, 52, of no fixed address, admitted stealing a bottle of port worth £15.50 from a Co-op store in Banbury Road, Oxford, on October 17. Also admitted committing an offence while on a conditional discharge. Fined £50 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20.
  10. Babar Ali, 33, of Allam Street, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Oxford on August 6. Fined £200 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £85 in costs.
  11. Bernard Day, 43, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted begging in St Aldate’s on October 2. Fined £20 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20.
  12. Matthew Graham, 36, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing meat worth £27.41 from a Co-op store in Oxford on October 18. Was given an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, because he had already committed 44 theft offences, with five so far this year. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80.
  13. Alegandro Quivira, 35, of St Mary’s Road, Oxford, admitted stealing a cake from a Pret a Manger store in Oxford on October 4. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £15 and £85 in costs.
  14. Nicola Crow, 35, of Cuxham Road, Watlington, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required and suspected of committing a driving offence at Abingdon Police Station, Abingdon, on October 6. Fined £200 and given 10 points on her driving licence. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £85 in costs.
  15. Linda Skinner, 58, of Plane Tree Way, Woodstock, admitted claiming housing and council tax benefit which she was not entitled to from West Oxfordshire District Council on May 5, 2012. Was given a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and given 200 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80 and £85 in costs.
  16. Aaron Hall, 28, of Herschel Crescent, Oxford, admitted using or threatening to use unlawful violence towards another person on May 4. Community order made and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, pay a victim surcharge of £60 and pay £85 costs.
  17. Peter Hall, 24, of Marshall Road, Oxford, admitted using or threatening to use unlawful violence towards another person on May 4. Community order made and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, pay a victim surcharge of £60 and pay £85 costs.
  18. Andrew Whipp, 36, of Hazel Crescent, Kidlington admitted assault which caused actual bodily harm on May 4. Community order made and ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work, pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £15 and pay £85 costs.
  19. Luke Jackson, 19, of Wynbush Road, Oxford, admitted resisting an officer in the execution of their duty in Bayswater Farm Road on May 29. Community order made with a curfew to stay at home between 7pm and 6am during the week and 11pm to 6am at the weekend until November 4. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £60.
  20. James Anywar, of Gaisford Road, Oxford, admitted renting rooms in a house in Dogson Road, Oxford, without a licence. Also admitted not repairing the fence or the roof, making sure fixtures and fire exits were clear and making sure the house and garden were kept tidy and safe. Fined £3,250 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £170.
  21. Abid Hussain, of Merton Street, Banbury, admitted renting rooms in a house in Padbury Drive, Banbury, without a licence and failing to provide rent book to Cherwell District Council. Fined £1,150, ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £65 and £1,260 in costs.
