AN OXFORDSHIRE businessman has won a global award for his work in corporate restructuring.

Alan Tilley received the 2014 chairman’s award at the Turnaround Management Association’s annual conference in Canada last month.

The TMA is the professional body for business consultants involved in management and corporate restructuring.

Mr Tilley, who lives in Warborough, near Wallingford, is co-founder of Bryan, Mansell and Tilley LLP, a management and business consultancy.

The 71-year-old was a senior executive at the former Grove Cranes plant in Cowley, Oxford, in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The judges described Mr Tilley as a figure of “significant expertise” who has “distinguished himself as a leader in the industry”.

Mr Tilley won the TMA International turnaround of the year award in 2011 and Insolvency and Rescue UK’s turnaround manager of the year prize in 2010.
