Bob Peeters has played down fears he could quit Charlton to take over at Standard Liege by committing to the Addicks after tonight’s 2-1 win over Bolton.

It had been suggested the Valley head coach was being lined up to take over at Standard after they sacked Guy Luzon earlier this week.

Owner Roland Duchatelet met with Peeters on Monday and was in SE7 tonight to watch the victory against the Trotters, but the Addicks boss rejected any suggestion he could soon be on his way back to his native Belgium.

Peeters said: “I had a meal yesterday (with Duchatelet) but again I’m very happy at Charlton.

“We didn’t speak about Standard really because he knows I’m not leaving here.

“I think I made a commitment to Charlton and I brought players in and made a commitment to them, so it would not be very honest to leave now.”
