FASHION fans will not have to wait long for their next fix as Oxford Fashion Week organisers revealed an Autumn/Winter show in November.

The week comes after the Spring/Summer show, which was held in March.

It will feature models, designers, artists and photographers from across Oxfordshire in five fashion shows.

Director Carl Anglim, who founded the event in 2009, said: “It’s great because it means the designers we featured in March can now also show off their Autumn/Winter collections as well.

Our top stories

“When we finished the last show the interest levels and demand to do another one were really high, so we decided to actually go for it this year.

“In recent years we’ve seen a big boom in the creative services around fashion, like makeup artists, photographers and things.

“There are lots of designers from London who are coming to Oxford to work, which is really exciting.”

The finale of the week will be the Birds of Paradise Show, at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Mr Anglim said: “We’re putting together a show with a very strong creative and cultural theme. It will feature work from all of the designers who have used birds of paradise as their inspiration.

“It will be a unique show around the theme, rather than the season.”

Before the week can start, organisers must find local models and open the voting for the Face of Oxford Fashion Week. Open model castings for men and women will be held for three days from Saturday, October 11.

Contenders do not need any modelling experience, and there are no size or height restrictions, but entrants must be over the age of 14.

All women must wear heels and any girls over the age of 16 who want to be considered for the lingerie show must bring swimwear.

After the castings, a shortlist for the Face of Oxford, one model whose image will appear on posters and publicity for the event, will be opened for a public vote.

The winner will be revealed on October 23.
