1. The Rising Aspirations Academy of Performing Arts will start a new theatre school at Larkmead School in Abingdon today. A session for children from pre-school to year two will be held from 9am to 10.15am and a year two to year 13 group session will be held from 10.30am to 1pm. 2. Street collections will be held in Witney town centre from 9.30am to 5.30pm as part of Witney in Pink day. The fundraiser, in aid of Abingdon-based Against Breast Cancer research charity, will be opened by the Mayor of Witney, Jeanette Baker.

3. The new Dean of Christ Church will be appointed in a ceremony at Christ Church Cathedral at 6pm. The Rev Canon Professor Martyn William Percy will take up the role after the retirement of the Very Rev Dr Christopher Lewis.

4. The We Love Highfield music festival will be held at The Isis Farmhouse pub, near Iffley Lock in Oxford from 3pm to 11pm, raising money to help 11 to 18-year-olds at the Highfield Unit Oxford. Tickets cost £20 plus booking fee. Visit wegottickets.com/event/289924.

Sunday

5. The Blenheim Palace Half Marathon will be held in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Races include half marathons for runners and wheelchair users, a 10k run and family fun run. Registration is closed for the half marathons and fun run but entries are available on the day for the fun run, which costs £10 for adults and £5 for children. Registration opens at 8am.

6. Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust will hold the “It’s Not Just a Walk in the Park” five-mile sponsored walk. Setting off from Tingewick Hall at the John Radcliffe Hospital at 10.30am.

West Oxfordshire District Council will hold its uplands area planning sub-committee meeting at its Woodgreen offices from 2pm. Councillors will decide whether to visit two sites at the centre of controversial planning applications for a total of more than 200 homes in Long Hanborough.

Tuesday

The deadline for Oxford City Council to accept a bid from campaigners for Temple Cowley Pools. The council listed it as an asset of community value in April and if it does not accept the bid, it will go back on the open market.

Wednesday

Oxford City Council will hold its west area planning committee meeting at the Town Hall from 6.30pm.

Thursday

West Oxfordshire District Council will discuss two sets of plans to build a total of 1,700 homes in Carterton. It has called a special development control meeting at Carterton Community Hall in Shilton Park at 2pm.
