Queen Street reopened yesterday morning after emergency works were completed.

Repairs were carried out by Thames Water to fix a broken sewer pipe.

Thames Water spokeswoman Becky Trotman said the road reopened at 8am and buses were able to travel down the street again.

Thousands of passengers faced delays on Stagecoach and Oxford Bus Company services after the road was closed on Wednesday, September 10.

It was initially thought emergency repairs would take just three days but this was extended after workers needed to dig deeper than anticipated.
