A CYCLIST who sexually harassed two women this morning is being hunted by police.

Thames Valley Police said the man made sexual comments and gestures to a woman in her 40s on a bridleway near Knights Road in Blackbird Leys at about 5.45am.

He then approached a teenage girl walking near the Ozone Leisure Park in Blackbird Leys and made sexual comments to her at about 8.50am.

Neither victims were hurt.

Police described the cyclist as white, in his late 20s, with dirty blonde and unkempt hair. He is of average build, about 5ft 9in, and was wearing a scruffy green jacket.

He was riding a men’s black bike and was seen drinking from a bottle, police said.

Ch Insp Yvette Hitch, deputy area commander for Oxford, said: “We would like to alert our local communities of these two reports which we believed are linked.

“We have additional patrols in locations around Oxford and are working hard to locate this offender.

“The description of the offender is quite detailed and we are asking the public to call 101 or 999 in an emergency should they come across anyone matching the description, who is behaving suspiciously.

“In both cases, the victims were uninjured, however, reports of this nature are always taken seriously and offences such as these not tolerated in our community.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

  • Police originally said the incident happened in Monks Close but have said this was incorrect and it was Knights Road.
